ONE CHILD AT A TIME

AOET (AIDS Orphan Education Trust) began when the heart of founder, Sam Tushabe, was moved to action by the sight of one boy digging through trash.  Sam was moved to do something to respond to the needs of children.  He started by helping one child.  That one child led to hundreds of sponsored children and an entire community being empowered towards a better future.

Almost 15 years after Sam committed to sponsor that first child, AOET remains committed to addressing the “larger issues”  of our day—AIDS, orphans, poverty in Africa—one step at a time and one child at a time.  We still believe that individuals deciding to help one child with whatever they have, will result in an entire tide of change.

Through the years, we have seen people follow Sam’s lead and hundreds of grandmothers, teachers, doctors, donors, sponsors, volunteers, staff and especially children are reaching out with faith to share friendship, hope and love with one child.  We currently have 700 sponsored children that are the joyful recipients of these priceless gifts.

There are numerous ways that you can get involved and help one child.  Check out the three main areas of support:

  • GIVE
  • SPEAK
  • GO
